.…. was created by Registered Nurse and Cosmetic Nurse Specialist, Cheena Windleburn. 

With almost 14 years in the medical aesthetics industry, practicing appearance medicine in a high end skin clinic alongside Nelson’s best skin therapists and providing nursing services at a plastic surgery clinic alongside top plastic surgeons, Cheena had a unique insight into the skincare industry and saw a gap, a lack of a brand that focussed on advanced treatments that can be performed, with some education, safely at home. 

After years of encouraging her patients to use home rollers for ‘Collagen Induction Therapy’ or as it’s more commonly known as these days; Microneedling or Derma Rolling, and many late nights delving into the cosmetic chemistry world online, she decided to add to/legitimise her online/YouTube learnings and enrolled into a Cosmetic Chemistry Diploma, whilst also investigating suppliers of quality skin care ingredients and tools. Excited to put it all together, Southern Skin Aesthetics was born. 

“Advanced skin treatments, when performed with quality tools and products make a huge improvement on skin quality and appearance, but they’re generally performed in a skin clinic or spa environment. Not everyone has the access, time or funds to have these treatments, and while there are advanced treatments that absolutely have to be performed by a qualified practitioner, there are some ‘unsung hero’ treatments that can absolutely be done safely and effectively at home, allowing ‘anytime’ access and saving money on clinic/spa treatment.”
